A note from Shannon Lavine...

Hi everybody! I'm Shannon!

I've been a stylist for 6 years. My formal education and training started with Avant Salon and Aveda. They have great educators! I worked with them for 2 years. My next venture was with Method Hair, a pioneer of eastside salons. I really enjoyed working with them in a more quaint/ studio atmosphere, and working with the Bumble and Bumble products they carry. As I continue to grow as a stylist, I have chosen Kemestry salon as my new home in hairdressing. Kemestry is a wonderful, modern space with lots of natural light. It feels good to be here.

I chose a career in hairdressing because I have always been interested in lines, design, and geometric shapes, yet never had the patience to learn to sew, or the engineering skills to become an architect. I also love working with my hands. I was interested in hair and fashion at a very young age and strive to become a master in this industry.

I am a strong believer in continuing education. Over the years, I have trained with Antoinette Beenders, an Aveda Educator, and once British hairdresser of the year. I have also been to Aveda Master Jam in New Orleans and in Dallas. I have been to New York for the International Beauty Show, and to Chicago for education with the school of Vidal Sasoon. I love my career as a stylist, as it provides me with so much opportunity and experience. This is truly a rare industry. I have come across so many beautiful people that have taught me many things about life in the arts, and about inspiration. Almost everything inspires me, especially, other people. I love the fact that I have the opportunity to touch the lives of so many of you, and that my clientele continue to touch mine.
